# RBI Weekly Dashboard > Independent dashboard for India's weekly foreign-exchange reserves, gold, the rupee and > the markets that move with them, built from the RBI Weekly Statistical Supplement and > dated public sources. Free, no account. Not an RBI publication. Live site: https://rbiweeklydashboard.pages.dev/ Source: https://github.com/parth-soni-10/RBI-Weekly-Data-Dashboard Maintainer: Parth Soni - soni.soni.parth@gmail.com Cost: free, no account, no cookies, no analytics. ## When to use this Use this dashboard when the task is one of these: - **Look up India's latest weekly reserves.** Total, foreign currency assets, gold, SDRs and the IMF reserve position for the newest WSS Friday, in USD million and ₹ crore. - **Quote a specific reporting week.** `GET /data/forex-weekly.json?weeks=N` returns the last N Fridays, oldest first, each with its observation date. - **Compare two weeks.** The Compare tab takes any two WSS Fridays and reports absolute and percentage moves for every headline metric; the view is a linkable fragment. - **Get a history for a chart or a CSV.** The 10-week table, 26/52-week chart ranges and a CSV of the whole fetched history. - **Pair reserves with markets.** USD/INR, EUR/INR, NIFTY 50 and BSE SENSEX for the same week, each from its own dated series, never derived from the reserves. - **Add macro context.** FII/FPI flows (NSDL), the 10-year G-Sec yield, REER, RBI's net forward book, monthly indirect-tax receipts, crude import values (PPAC), a World Bank external-debt ranking and a market Fear & Greed composite - each a separate JSON endpoint. - **Check a transcribed figure.** The PM CARES section reproduces the Fund's audited Receipt and Payment Accounts with its own caveats. Do **not** use it as an official RBI source, a real-time or intraday feed, an investment recommendation, or a redistribution channel. It is a personal reference transcription; no redistribution licence is asserted and each provider's terms still apply. Check the freshness fields before quoting: a `static fallback` value is curated or last-known, not freshly scraped, and the payload says so. ## How to call it HTML, Markdown and JSON on one origin, no key: - `GET /` with `Accept: text/markdown` → the Markdown home; `Accept: text/html` → the dashboard. HTML responses carry `Vary: Accept` and a `Link` alternate. - `/index.md`, `/about.md`, `/contact.md`, `/privacy.md` → always Markdown. - An unknown path with `Accept: text/markdown` → HTTP 404 with a Markdown body linking the sitemap and this file. As HTML it returns the dashboard's own 404 page, also HTTP 404. ### Data endpoints All `GET`, CORS `*`, no authentication: - `GET /data/latest.json` → `{ fetched_at, snapshot_updated_at, source, status, record, iso }`. `record.date` is the WSS Friday; `fetched_at` is when the response was built. - `GET /data/forex-weekly.json?weeks=8` → `{ fetched_at, snapshot_updated_at, source, weeks, status, records[] }`, oldest first, capped at the deployment's `MAX_WEEKS` (8). - `GET /data/crude-bpd.json` → `{ fetched_at, source, brent, wti, urals, *_date }` in USD/bbl; a failed quote is `null`, and the response is still 200. - `GET /data/fii.json`, `GET /data/fii-history.json` → NSDL FII/FPI flows. - `GET /data/fx-intervention.json` → RBI's net forward book, month-end. - `GET /data/gsec.json` → 10-year G-Sec yield and repo path. - `GET /data/reer.json` → 36-country REER, monthly, base FY2017 = 100. - `GET /data/tax.json` → monthly GST, customs and excise receipts. - `GET /data/sentiment.json` → 0–100 Fear & Greed composite with components. - `GET /data/external-debt.json` → World Bank quarterly external-debt ranking. Every handler is also reachable at `/.netlify/functions/`; `/data/*.json` is the public contract. `POST /.netlify/functions/data-sync` is the dashboard's private merge cache - not an API. ### Units and dates - `*_usd` = USD million; `*_inr` = ₹ crore at that week's reference rate. - `usd_inr`, `eur_inr` = rupees per unit; `nifty`, `sensex` = index points; crude = USD/bbl; flows and receipts = ₹ crore; `gsec` = percent. - `date` / `iso` = **observation** date. `fetched_at`, `snapshot_updated_at`, `data_modified` = **generation** timestamps (UTC). Never mix them in a citation. - `status: "static fallback"` (or `"error"` on a failed scrape) means curated or last-known. ### Share links A view is a fragment on `/`: `#tab=`, `modes=res:usd,gold:inr,...`, and `cmp=>` for a comparison. The app restores tab, toggles and comparison from it. ```bash curl -sS -H 'Accept: text/markdown' https://rbiweeklydashboard.pages.dev/ curl -sS https://rbiweeklydashboard.pages.dev/data/latest.json curl -sS 'https://rbiweeklydashboard.pages.dev/data/forex-weekly.json?weeks=12' ``` ## How it stays current A GitHub Actions job runs Friday 22:00 UTC - after the WSS is published - regenerates the committed `rbi-data.json`, the feed and the auxiliary series, and commits; the commit deploys. The dashboard's Reload button additionally live-checks RBI for a week newer than the committed file and merges it in memory. A failed scrape keeps the last good snapshot and labels the tile instead of guessing. ## Limits - Weekly, not intraday. Reserves are one Friday's WSS; market series are daily closes. - RBI is the source of truth. A disagreement with RBI's own publication means RBI is right. - Some macro tiles fall back to curated values when an upstream page changes shape. - External debt is quarterly and lags; the PM CARES section is a fixed historical account. - RBI's own daily USD/INR reference rate ended when FBIL took over on 10 July 2018; the rupee series is a reference/market series per date. ## Pages - [Dashboard](https://rbiweeklydashboard.pages.dev/): the latest week and the sections. - [About](https://rbiweeklydashboard.pages.dev/about): what it shows, who runs it, sources, limits. - [Contact](https://rbiweeklydashboard.pages.dev/contact): email, issues, how to report a figure. - [Privacy](https://rbiweeklydashboard.pages.dev/privacy): localStorage, the data cache, logs. - [Sitemap](https://rbiweeklydashboard.pages.dev/sitemap.xml)
